Materials
ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene): Lightweight, impact-resistant, dimensionally stable, and fully compatible with decorative electroplating surface treatment — the standard substrate for premium decorative hardware and consumer electronics exterior components
Surface Finish — Brushed Nickel Electroplating
Multi-layer electroplating: copper base coat for surface levelling + semi-bright nickel for corrosion resistance + bright nickel for reflectivity + satin nickel top coat
Brushed nickel finish: directional linear brush texture applied uniformly across all exterior faces prior to final sealing — producing a consistent warm satin metallic sheen
Resistant to UV exposure, humidity, and daily contact wear under normal indoor use conditions
Key Advantages
Dual-Zone Surface Treatment — Concentric circular brushed top face and vertically knurled side wall are two deliberately distinct surface treatments on a single component — each optimised for its function: the top face for visual premium and position reading, the side wall for tactile grip and rotation control — creating a knob with both aesthetic and ergonomic depth.
Concentric Brush Premium Detail — The spiral concentric brush pattern radiating from the centre of the top face is the defining premium detail of high-grade audio and instrumentation knobs — delivering the visual character of a precision-machined metal component at the cost efficiency of an ABS electroplated part.
Positive Knurl Grip — Vertical straight knurl pattern on the full-height side wall provides secure, confident rotational grip under dry, light-moisture, and gloved-hand conditions — essential for volume, frequency, and parameter control knobs operated frequently and decisively in professional and domestic environments.
Clear Position Indicator — Recessed indicator slot at 12 o’clock provides an unambiguous, always-visible rotational position reference that reads clearly against surrounding panel markings or scale printing at any ambient light level.
Unified Warm Nickel Finish — Full-body brushed nickel electroplating across both top face and knurled side wall delivers a warm satin metallic appearance that coordinates naturally with brushed nickel panel faces, stainless steel hardware, and dark anodised aluminium control surfaces in audio and appliance applications.
Full OEM Customization — Diameter, height, knurl pitch and depth, indicator slot design, shaft bore format, and surface finish can all be specified for exact control knob fit, feel, and appearance requirements across audio, appliance, automotive, and industrial applications.

Manufacturing Process
Injection Molding — High-precision tooling produces the knob body with consistent cylindrical geometry, accurately formed knurl pattern on the side wall, flat top face disc, recessed indicator slot, and internal shaft bore in a single moulding operation.
CNC Finishing — Indicator slot and shaft bore are CNC-machined to final dimensional tolerances post-moulding for accurate position reference and shaft fit.
Surface Preparation — Moulded ABS parts undergo chemical etching and activation treatment to ensure strong, uniform electroplating adhesion across both the flat top face and the knurled side wall surface geometry.
Multi-Layer Electroplating — Parts pass through a controlled plating line: copper base layer for surface levelling and knurl profile fill, semi-bright nickel for corrosion resistance, bright nickel for reflectivity, followed by a satin nickel top coat.
Concentric Brushing — Top Face — Spiral concentric brush texture is applied to the flat top face using a rotating abrasive pad, producing a consistent radial grain that covers the full top face diameter evenly from centre to edge.
Directional Brushing — Side Wall — Vertical directional brush texture is applied to the knurled side wall surface following the knurl channel direction, producing a consistent satin grain seated within each knurl channel.
Dimensional & Appearance Inspection — Every batch undergoes dimensional verification of outer diameter, height, shaft bore fit, and indicator slot position, plus visual inspection of concentric brush consistency, knurl regularity, and surface finish quality before shipment.
