Manufacturing Process
Injection Molding — High-precision tooling produces lid and base shell components with consistent wall thickness, smooth defect-free exterior surfaces, accurately positioned hinge pin sockets, and integrated latch mechanism housing.
Pre-Plate Polishing — Exterior lid and base surfaces are hand-polished prior to electroplating to eliminate any moulding surface marks, gate vestiges, or weld lines, ensuring a flawless substrate for the final mirror chrome finish.
Surface Preparation — Polished ABS parts undergo multi-stage chemical etching and activation treatment to ensure uniform electroplating adhesion across all exterior chrome surfaces including the latch button and hinge transition areas.
Multi-Layer Electroplating — Parts pass through a controlled plating line: copper base layer for micro-defect fill and surface levelling, semi-bright nickel for corrosion resistance, bright nickel for maximum reflectivity, followed by a jewellery-grade mirror chrome top coat.
Assembly — Chrome-plated lid and base are assembled with hinge pins and latch mechanism, verified for smooth open-close action, positive latch engagement, and flush lid-to-base alignment before any interior insert fitting.
Interior Finishing — Mirror insert bonding, cosmetic pan fitting, and foam pad placement are completed post-assembly as specified per OEM order configuration.
Appearance & Function Inspection — Every compact is inspected for chrome surface quality, latch click action, hinge smoothness, lid alignment, and interior finish before packaging.
