Inside AQUAmate: Three Days Documenting Precision Manufacturing, Step by Step

Three days. Multiple factories. One of the most detailed filming projects we've taken on.

 We just wrapped three straight days of filming to document how our filtered shower heads are made. With a professional filming crew on site, we captured the real, unscripted work that goes into every stage of the process — the kind of detail that's easy to describe in words, but far more powerful to actually see.

If you've never tried to film real production end-to-end, here's the part people don't see: filming is only the "visible" work. The real effort is in the prep — aligning schedules across departments, arranging lines, confirming availability, clearing space, and making sure we could capture the right details at a high standard without disrupting day-to-day operations.And then, we hit record.

Over These Three Days, We Captured the Full Journey

1. Product Development

We started at the very beginning of a product's life — the design and engineering stage. The crew followed our team through 3D design work, watching concepts take shape on screen before moving into engineering review, where every dimension, tolerance, and material choice gets scrutinized before it's approved to move forward. From there, we captured the prototyping process up close, followed by rounds of testing to make sure each design could hold up to real-world use before it ever reaches a production line.

2. Manufacturing

Next, the crew moved into the heart of production: tooling and injection molding. This is where a design on a screen becomes a physical part for the first time, and we made sure to capture the precision involved in mold setup and the injection molding process itself. From there, we followed a part through T0 and T1 sampling, the critical checkpoints where early samples are inspected and refined, all the way through to assembly, where individual components come together into a finished shower head.

3. Surface Finishing

Surface finishing is where a product goes from functional to premium, and it was one of the most visually striking parts of the shoot. We filmed the electroplating process, spray painting, and the brushed nickel finishing technique, along with PVD coating and sand blasting — each one giving a different texture, tone, and durability to the final product. This stage is where the details customers actually see and touch come together, and the crew spent extra time capturing the transformation at each step.

4. Filter Production

The final day brought us to our automated filter production line, where we watched the whole process flow from raw material to finished filter cartridge in real time. We filmed the automation lines in action, along with the consistency checks built into every stage, to show just how tightly controlled and repeatable this part of the process really is.

Twelve-Hour Days, Zero Compromise on Quality

It was intense, in the best way. We filmed 12+ hours a day, on a tight schedule, constantly transitioning between locations and departments, racing the clock — but at no point did we let that affect the quality of what we captured. Every angle, every close-up, every transition was planned and re-planned on the fly to make sure the final footage would do justice to the work happening on the floor.

A Team Effort, From Start to Finish

None of this would have been possible without every team that made space for us in the middle of their regular workload. Product development, manufacturing, surface finishing, and filter production all stayed patient and fully engaged through hours of setup, retakes, and waiting around for the right shot — proof that great footage is really a team effort, not just a camera crew's job.
